A lawyer by profession, Anthony F. Caffrey served as US attorney and assistant US attorney prior to his appointment as Syracuse Postmaster on Sept. 9, 1964.〔Syracuse Herald Journal, October 17, 1968〕 The Syracuse, NY resident attended Sumner and Edward Smith Schools and Christian Brothers Academy. In 1939 he received his law degree from Syracuse University〔Syracuse Post-Standard, October 18, 1968〕 at the age of 21. Johnson in 1964.
